Product Update: Enhancing Order Management, Payments, and Point of Sale Efficiency

Discover the latest updates that will revolutionize your order management, payment processing, and Point of Sale efficiency, making your business operations smoother and more effective.

Streamlined POS Workflows to Boost Staff Productivity

We understand that a streamlined workflow is crucial for maintaining productivity and efficiency in your coffee shop. That’s why we’ve introduced several enhancements to our POS system. These updates are designed to reduce the number of steps needed to complete transactions, allowing your staff to focus more on customer service and less on navigating the system. Most of these updates will be rolling out next week - some are already live!

Refinements to the Point of Sale

Default USB Card Reader: No setup headaches! The POS now defaults to the USB card reader for payments, making transactions more seamless. The Wise BBPOS option has been removed to streamline device selection and avoid confusion.

Faster Loyalty & Gift Card Redemptions: Baristas will be able to access the cart before adding items, making it quick and easy to process loyalty rewards and gift card redemptions - no extra steps required.

Smarter Customer Name Handling: We are resolving an issue where updating a customer name occasionally failed if one was already saved. Now, customer profiles will keep the most recent saved name.

Clearer Kiosk Button Labels: For better customer clarity, the “Express Checkout” button is now labeled PAY & ORDER HERE, guiding guests at self-service stations. Interested in getting a kiosk for your shop? Reach out to the joe team at thrive@joe.coffee

Enhanced Loyalty Gift Card Ledger: A refreshed ledger interface brings new ways to view, filter, and select gift card transactions, equipping staff with better tools for quick lookups and record-keeping.

Modernized Menu Icons: Gift Card and Miscellaneous menu options will now feature new, easy-to-recognize icons, helping your team spot what they need at a glance.

Each of these updates is purpose-built to minimize barriers for your staff and help your coffee shop run even more efficiently.

Revamped Order Management Screen for Better Clarity and Efficiency

Our order management screen has received significant updates to enhance clarity and improve overall efficiency. We are increasing the font size of item names on the Kitchen Display System (KDS), making it easier for your staff to read and reducing the likelihood of errors.

The new workflow for drive-thru orders going live July 17th eliminates the need to tap the Complete Curbside button on In-Person drive thru orders, simplifying the process and reducing wait times. Additionally, customizable device alerts help minimize distractions, enabling your team to stay focused and process orders more quickly.

We are also adding subcategory filters to help your team prioritize orders more effectively, ensuring that high-priority items are addressed promptly. These changes collectively contribute to a smoother and more efficient order preparation process, whether you’re operating a walk-up café, counter service, or drive-thru.

Customer forget a receipt or want one days later? You will now be able to search your order history on the Point of Sale going as far back as you need and send an SMS receipt directly to them

Enhanced Payment Experience with Tap to Pay on NFC-Enabled Devices

Our latest updates to the payment experience are designed to reduce hardware dependencies and make Tap to Pay more accessible and intuitive. You can now accept contactless payments directly on NFC-enabled devices, eliminating the need for extra readers.

Additionally, Tap to Pay now supports both One Screen Solutions and customer-facing screens, providing clear on-screen instructions to guide customers on where to tap. If a customer’s card isn’t compatible with Tap to Pay, our system seamlessly switches to the Stripe Card Reader to complete the transaction without any hassle. Interested in upgrading your consumer screen to have Tap to Pay? Reach out to the joe team at thrive@joe.coffee for more information.
